THE NUTRITHORITY STORY:

OUR SUPPLEMENT BRAND'S BEGINNINGS

My family has been in business together since 1990 when my parents opened our first retail store. My brothers and I were all under 10 (and I was only 2), but we were still part of the business.

We spent everyday there after school, hanging out in the back with our bean bags and Super Nintendo, and helping out with anything that needed to be done.

My Dad has always been very clear about how we were going to do business. We’re in business to treat people right: to offer the highest quality fitness equipment and supplements that fit their needs, to only sell what we personally would want to use ourselves, and to treat our customers like family.

Anything less wouldn’t cut it.

Thanks to those guiding principles, we’ve been able to grow and expand throughout Kansas and Colorado to 12 retail supplement stores that my entire family is involved in running together.

As our retail stores expanded, we became increasingly aware of the challenges facing the supplement industry.

Through years of experience, we saw firsthand the lack of accountability and transparency in many products on the market:

The protein powder we recommended that we found out didn’t contain the protein that it claimed on the label.
The fat loss product we told our customers was exceptional ended up being spiked with a pharmaceutical fat loss drug.
The best selling pre-workout that was spiked with a pharmaceutical ADHD medication.

These things are illegal and should never happen, but they do.

Unfortunately, these are not the only dark secrets of the supplement industry. Not only do illegal practices occur, but legal methods of creating low-quality products also exist that consumers may not be aware of.

There are producers who cut corners with ingredients and production techniques in order to maximize profits.

Companies that focus solely on marketing rather than on quality formulations.

And low quality proprietary blends designed to separate you from your hard-earned money with little result to show for it.

This ultimately led us to consider what we could do about it. We were just a retailer selling other people’s products and didn’t have any control over what they made.

We couldn’t start a brand. Could we?

After repeatedly experiencing the problems in the supplement industry, we decided it was time for us to take action.

We believed our customers deserved better, and that it was up to us to do it right from the beginning.

Our focus with Nutrithority was to take the principles my dad taught us in business and bring them to our supplement brand: to treat people right, offer high quality products, to create what we would personally want to use ourselves, and to treat our customers like family.

So we started with what we knew best:

PROTEIN.

We wanted to create the highest quality, best tasting protein on the market. One where you could trust the label, enjoy the flavor, and be confident you're drinking something good for you each time you have it.

So we sought out the highest quality whey protein isolate on the market. One that absorbed easily, digested well, and mixed up with no problem. Then we flavored it to perfection.

That's how Isothority was born.

At first, we weren’t sure how it was going to go.

We were new to this side of the business, and we had a lot to learn. So we placed it on our shelves in our stores and let the market decide.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Our customers loved it and felt like they could finally trust a supplement brand because we had created it.

That first test has allowed us to grow to over 20 products with multiple flavors and expand across the United States.

As we grow, we're committed to doing it the right way.

Treating our customers like family, creating products we would want to use, and building relationships beyond just our products.
