define[glucose+] is the very definition of what a peri-workout (before, during, and after workout) carbohydrate supplement should be.
define[glucose+] is comprised of a combination of d-glucose and Cluster Dextrin®. D-glucose is the most simple form of carbohydrates meaning that it does not need time to break down to be used. Cluster Dextrin® on the other hand is a more complex carbohydrate, meaning it will take a little time to break down to be used. But, it has a much higher molecular weight, so it will move through the stomach much faster and helps the product sit much lighter.
Combining the two carbohydrates will replenish glycogen, muscular energy used during training, as quickly and effectively as possible. The two will also spike insulin, which is crucial when helping transport nutrients like amino acids throughout the body to places like muscle cells, without causing a crash afterward.
define[glucose+] can be used before, during, and/or after your workout, and is unflavored to mix well with things like pre-workout, electrolytes, or protein. define[glucose+] is important when building muscle, burning fat, and/or increasing performance, and the servings and serving sizes can be manipulated to better fit your goals. These qualities make define[glucose+] the most ideal supplement to take peri-workout.
Why take d-Glucose and Highly Branch Cyclic Dextrin around a workout?
Consuming simple carbohydrates peri-workout (before, during, and after your workout) is the most crucial step in recovery and muscle growth. This is because consuming simple carbs helps take care of the first step in recovery, muscular glycogen (muscle energy) replenishment. If your body does not have simple carbs to replenish muscular glycogen, it will break down other muscles in your body and/or use the protein you consume around a workout to replenish this glycogen. This can lead to a loss of muscle tissue and a setback in recovery.
This is why pairing a simple carbohydrate and whey protein isolate is a holistic post-workout recovery drink, as the simple carbohydrates help replenish glycogen stores, and the whey protein isolate is used for muscular recovery and growth. In addition to glycogen replenishment, consuming simple carbs peri-workout increases your body’s insulin levels. Insulin is a hormone that delivers nutrients from your bloodstream to the different parts of your body including muscle tissue. Therefore, increasing your insulin right around your workout means you can have better nutrient delivery to your muscles when it matters most. Combing d-glucose and HBCD will help reduce or even eliminate the crash that d-glucose alone might have, while still getting the job done.
